From time to time, Greg calls upon his many relationships throughout the country on healthcare and pharmacy management issues to provide independent advice or a team of advisors to entities looking for confidential advice and consultation on such matters.
Prior to his tenure at MagellanRx as SVP/General Manager of the Government Markets group (1/1/14 to 12/31/18), Greg spent 12 years as an independent consultant for health plans, PBMs, and retail, mail, specialty, and LTC pharmacies. He was also retained to advise several companies in the e-prescribing, prior authorization, information management, generic management, and clinical service areas. During his time as a consultant, he also worked on a variety of Merger and Acquisition issues. Interacting with government agencies on a variety of business matters, his work included advice on pharmacy legislative and regulatory issues primarily in the Medicare Part B/D, LTC, and federal employee/defense areas and on the evolution of the PBM industry.
Greg is a past Board member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs and has been active in NCPDP for over 30 years. He is currently a member of the Strategic Planning Committee as well as the Membership/Leadership Committee. He has previously served on various Committees of NCPDP and is a former member of the Executive Committee as well as a co-chair of its Work Group 9 involved in Government Programs. He is a member of AMCP, AHLA, AHIP and the American Society of Pharmacy Law and belongs to several Bar Associations. More recently, he has been involved on a number of projects pertaining to Medicaid, Dual-Eligibles, ADAP and senior citizen markets, and emerging pharmacy benefit issues.
Previously, in a career that began on Capitol Hill and subsequently included practice as a Washington attorney, Greg obtained his two Masters Degrees in Public Administration and Tax Law. Following work as McKesson’s outside counsel he joined PCS after lobbying on the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988. Greg co-founded Perform Cost Management, held executive roles for ValueRx and Prime Therapeutics, and held a strategic planning role at Bristol Myers.
Having extensively traveled nationally both as a consultant and in his various roles, Greg is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and is active in other matters in Washington, DC and on Industry matters throughout the United States.
